அவுஸ்திரேலியாவுக்கு போதைப்பொருள் கடத்திய தமிழ் விமானி கைது!

அஸ்திரேலியாவுக்குள் போதைப் பொருளைக் கடத்தி வந்ததாக மலேசிய விமானி ஒருவர் மீது சிட்னி நீதிமன்றத்தில் நேற்று குற்றம் சாட்டப்பட்டது. மலேசியன் ஏர்லைன்ஸ் விமானத்தில் விமானியாகப் பணிபுரியும் தியாகு சுப்ரமணியம், செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை சிட்டி விமான நிலையத்தில் கைது செய்யப்பட்டார்.

சிட்னி விமான நிலையத்தில் அவரது கைப்பெட்டியை ஆஸ்திரேலிய சுங்கத் துறை அதிகாரிகள் சோதனை செய்தபோது அந்தப் பெட்டிக்குள் 5 கிலோ கிராம் போதைப் பொருள் அடங்கிய 6 பொட்டலங்கள் மறைத்து வைக்கப்பட்டிருப்பது கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது என்று சுங்கத் துறை வெளியிட்ட அறிக்கை கூறியது.

30 வயதான மேற்படி விமானியை பின்தொடர்ந்ததாக தெரிவிக்கும் அவுஸ்திரேலிய பொலிஸார் கடந்த வருடம் 1.4 கிலோகிராம் ஹெரோயினை கடத்திவந்து ஹோட்டலொன்றில் வைத்து ஒருவரிடம் கொடுத்ததாக தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.

சிட்னி நீதிமன்று இவருக்கான பிணையை நிராகரித்துள்ளது.

A Malaysian Airlines pilot has faced court today after being arrested at Sydney airport for allegedly carrying five kilograms of methamphetamine in his suitcase.

Reports say Thiagu Supramaniam was arrested by the Australian Federal Police on Tuesday after customs officers searched his bag allegedly uncovering six packages containing a "white crystalline substance", which tests reportedly proved to be methamphetamine.

After facing Central Local Court today, the 30-year-old pilot has been refused bail over two counts of importing a commercial quantity of a border controlled drug, one count allegedly related to a drug deal in a Sydney hotel last August.

According to reports the AFP have been investigating the pilot since August when he is alleged to have delivered 1.4kgs of heroin to a man at a Sydney hotel.

The case returns to court next week.
