தமிழீழ கோரிக்கையின் அடிப்படையில் இயங்கும் கட்சிகள் தடை செய்ய இலங்கை அரசு தீர்மானித்துள்ளதாக திவயின பத்திரிகை செய்தி வெளியிட்டுள்ளது. குறித்த கட்சிகளை தடை செய்வதற்கு தேவையான சட்ட வரைவுகள் தயாரிக்கப்பட்டு வருவதாக தெரிவிக்கப்படுகிறது.
தனிநாட்டு கோரிக்கை முன்வைக்கும் இரண்டு கட்சிகள் ஏற்கனவே அடையாளம் காணப்பட்டுள்ளதாக குறிப்பிடப்படுகிறது. புதிய சட்டத்தின் அடிப்படையில் நாட்டை பிளவுபடுத்த எவரேனும் முயற்சி செய்தால் அவரது அசையும் மற்றும் அசையா சொத்துக்கள் அரசுடமையாக்கப்பட உள்ளது.
இதேவேளை, அயல்நாடுகளில் தனிநாட்டுக் கோரிக்கைகளை முன்னெடுத்த தமிழ்த் தேசியக் கூட்டமைப்பு நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர்களின் இராஜதந்திர கடவுச் சீட்டுக்கள் ரத்து செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன.
